School is currently closed until April 20th.

When I say “I will try my hardest to be there for you all”, I mean it.  I know it’s going to be hard to keep your little ones entertain if you are still going to work or working from home. Please don’t feel like your obligated to do everything I post, it’s just some helpful activities. If you do stuff with them please send me pictures/videos because I would love to see.

**I kindly request that all my students and their families put special time aside, at 9 am, 3 pm, and 7 pm to start a special prayer circle for our school community and beyond. Jesus and our Blessed Mother always listen to their little children. *** As we pray let us think about with all our hearts, all those suffering, all those caring for the sick, and for the protection of all.  Below is the prayer created from our beloved Pope Francis to Mary during the Corona Virus Pandemic, that I ask we all pray together.**

Dear Nursery Parents/ Guardians,

Welcome to St. Athanasius Catholic Academy. Thank you for choosing us for your children’s first
academic experience. We are delighted to have this remarkable opportunity to educate your children, your most precious gifts from God. We are so glad that your children are part of our Nursery Family and look forward to getting to know each child as we grow together in God’s love this year. Our Nursery classes will provide each child with a safe and loving learning environment. Each day will be filled with fun and exciting adventures to help your child develop spiritually, academically, and socially. The classes will be exploring many concepts and themes throughout this year and we are excited to begin our journey together.

As we begin there will be an Open House for the Girls on Thursday, September 5th from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., and for the Boys on Friday, September 6th from 9:00A.M. to 11:00A.M. We look forward to meeting you and your children then. You will also have the opportunity to explore the classroom and
meet new friends and their families.
Our official first day of class is on Monday September 9th from 9:00A.M. – 11:00A.M. Dismissal will beat 11:00A.M. for all Nursery students the first week to allow for adjustment. The children will assemble in the school yard from the 61st street entrance. We will meet the children there every morning. Dismissal will be from the same location. Beginning September 16th we will have regular full day sessions 9-2 and half day sessions 9-11. On Thursday September 12th at 7:00 P.M. we will have our Fall Parent Meeting.  All parents/guardians are expected to be present. You will have an opportunity to hear from our pastor, to visit the classroom and meet with us to hear about plans for the year.

When you shop for school items, please follow these guidelines. Nursery children must wear comfortable shoes. Sneakers are the most appropriate. You can also choose any shoe with a rubber sole. Nursery children need a standard type back pack, at least 18 x 13(No wheelies please). Please label with your child’s name. Full day Nursery children need a lunchbox that will fit inside their back pack. Please label with your child’s name. Nursery children need to bring in two complete changes of clothes (Winter and Spring) including socks, underwear and an extra pair of sneakers. Please put those items in a large Ziploc bag and label with your child’s name. Full day Nursery students need to bring in a rest blanket for
quiet/nap time.

Supply List: 2boxes of tissues, 1 container of wet wipes, 2 rolls of paper towels, 1 container of Clorox wipes, 1 two pocket folder, 1 bottle of liquid soap, 2 Elmer’s glue sticks.

Looking forward to partnering with you to make this a fun learning experience for your children this year,

Sincerely,
Ms.Christina
